Knowledge for real, unfiltered labor, raw emotions, and lifelong confidence.

Individual or group workshops for dismantling misinformation, silencing anxiety, and navigating the transition to parenthood from birth to life with a newborn. Through these unique, collaborative classes the information is provided in terms you understand, identifies your goals, and pulls them within reach. In pregnancy many people feel unprepared for what lies at the end of the 40+ week long journey. So much anticipation builds that then can turn into adrenaline and fear of the unknown.

Whether you're navigating anxiety about experiencing your first birthing experience, wanting to course correct from a traumatic or out of your control previous birth, or simply wanting to expand your knowledge to be the best support person you can be -

I help you overcome…

  • The overwhelming urge to ‘plan’ labor

  • The transition from partners to parents

  • The concern that your body won’t know what to do

  • Your partner’s fear of not being useful in labor

  • Immediate postpartum questions

  • Losing your sense of self in the process of becoming a parent

My job isn’t to tell you the ‘right’ way to give birth, but to give you the tools and education to know what ‘right’ looks like for you and your family.

You don’t have to figure everything out alone.

Late Pregnancy & Early Labor

Add lightning crotch to the list of things no one told you about pregnancy - In my classes we dedicate time to going over what changes can be expected in the last few weeks leading up to labor. In addition to setting those expectations, we discuss how to know you’re in labor (without asking ChatGPT) and what to do when you are!

Laboring & Birth

The part you’ve been waiting for - all of the excitement, nerves, prepping and practicing all comes together. This crucial chapter of our lesson is where we gain a better understanding of when to go to the hospital (or call your midwife), how to set a conducive birth environment, and positioning that can help shorten your labor. This is also where we get partners and other support people involved and hands on - ready to fully be present for you and your needs in birth.

Everything from delivery of the placenta to the questions nobody knows to ask about life with a newborn. We partner together to cover the basics and work our way up to confidence and preparedness for what lies ahead.

Hi there! I’m Cayla (she/they) your Childbirth Educator and overall resource for everything beyond the 36 week mark. I began my journey in birth work as a Doula for both Labor and Postpartum clients - over the years I realized there was a need for childbirth education that was digestible and easily called upon. After acknowledging this gap in perinatal preparation I began the pathway towards becoming a Childbirth Educator to provide this level of care to my clients. Combining my intimate knowledge of the birthing process with my passion for client advocacy and informed consent allowed me to really deliver the care that recognizes the role fear plays in keeping us safe while laying it to rest when it isn’t needed.

3 Benefits of Childbirth Education Classes

Stops the Fear, Tension, Pain cycle before it starts
This physiological snowball experience is common, but preventable. In essence, the presence of fear causes our bodies to become tense (bracing for impact, attack, etc) resulting not only in increased pain and adrenaline - but then self-perpetuates an increase in fear caused by the pain.

Improved Partner Experience
No one enjoys seeing their life partner in pain while not knowing how to help. It’s no surprise that most partners want to be as resourceful and supportive as possible during the birthing process - taking a childbirth education class gives you and your partner all of the tools to combine what they already know about comforting you with top tips from a professional.

Informed Consent as a Mandatory Practice
You can’t properly make an educated decision without knowing the in’s and out’s of what’s being offered to you. While one class may not make you an expert on all things possible in birth, most things you encounter will at least be familiar and much less anxiety inducing. If you do come across something unheard of, you will know exactly what to ask to make your choice.
